Johann Pachelbel was a classical composer from the baroque-era. I got the idea of playing the piece in this way from Paul Gilbert. This arrangement is very different from the original version. Start practising the piece slowly and try to play it accurately. Keep your both hands as relaxed as possible and use strict alternate picking. You can basically play this fast or slow. Either way this piece should help you with your picking, string-skipping and position shifting technique and perhaps it gives you some new melodic ideas. You can find more pieces like this from the lesson "Neo-Classical Beginnings" made by Leroy Smith. Good Playing!
