I've been working on learning my scale patterns by moving them up and down the neck using the Circle of 5ths. For an explanation of the Circle of 5ths please see the following lesson: Intro To Music Theory by Redmond Militante

Part of this includes becoming comfortable with finding the roots on the fretboard.

This exercise you'll play the roots on all six strings for a certain note and move it through the Circle of 5ths, beginning with C: C-G-D-A-E-B-F#-C#-Ab-Eb-Bb-F-C. circle of 5ths

In following lessons I will be moving through the Circle of 5ths with each scale pattern.
