Beginning Funk Rhythms
Here is the 16th note pattern but now its in chordal form. The chord is the infamous "James Brown" chord. The chord in the example is a D9 chord w/o the root. Its called the "James Brown" chord because you hear it in almost every James Brown song. But any chord will do. Remember to keep the alternate picking, even with the chords and remember the left hand "dampening" effect to get the percussive sound of funk guitar. Good Luck!!!
