This lesson is about fusing the major scale shapes into extended forms. The extended forms will help you play outside the box and really master these shapes.
1) Practice the three shapes that make up each extended scale then practice each extended scale. These will help you really get to know the major scale and its modes.
This particular study is in the key of F Major. Feel free to play them in many keys. Bb and C are other common keys you'll want to master next.
2) Whenever there are 4 notes per string, slide your pinky finger from the third note to the fourth note.
3) Play along with the progressions. Put them on repeat and improv.
4) Chords in the key of F are:
F, Gm, Am, Bb, C, Dm
Fmaj7th, Gm7, Am7, Bbmaj7th, C7, Dm7, Em7b5
