This is simply an example of a fill riff as inspired by Between the Buried and Me(my favorite band) who has turned me on to the world of chromatic scales and their usage in metal. This one uses semi-tonic backwards progression of minor 3rds. This is really nice for fills coming out of or going into a breakdown or something stable, based on it's seemingly chaotic color. Let's move on to page 2 and see if we can't use this styling to create a riff or fill riff that's practical in many uses, and has a self-customizable quality.
