Rockman Bass Ace Headphone Amp

I bought this to practice in my hotel while out of town. The headphones that come with it are poor quality, But with my earbuds, it sounds great! Deep tone. I am a beginner, but it works perfect in the hotel or at home.

I remember first seeing this device back in 1984 or so. I thought it was a novel idea... to have a personal headset amp to practice anytime, anywhere. I always wanted one but never got around to buying one. Well more than 20 years later I finally bought one and wished that I hadn't wasted the money. The sound is absolutely horrible... overdriven and dirty. The treble/mid controls only make the sound worse by adding a level squalkiness. You figure that after 20 years of electronics improvements, personal audio R&D and microchip advancements that a $79 audio ($123 m.s.r.p!!) device would sound half-way decent but the Rockman Bass Ace is more than 30 years behind the times!! Save your money and use a physician's stethoscope instead, it picks up a truer sound through the bass' body and doesn't rely on batteries.

Features: 1 instrument input, 1 aux input, 1 volume knob, 1 mid control knob and 1 treble control knob.

Sound: Overdriven and squalky. Nothing like a bass sound.

Durability: It should last a very long time... that tends to be the case with things you don't bother using.
