1. Control Panel |
The control panel contains all the high-level functions, such as 'Save', 'Load', 'Play', etc. |

Saves the current sequence in the Composer. |
Retrieves the current sequence and loads it into the Composer. Note: If you are editing an existing sequence, it should
automatically load into the Composer. If it does not, simply hit the 'Load' button. |
Stops playback of the current musical sequence. |
Plays the current musical sequence according to the tempo specified in the control panel, and the sound, click,
and loop parameters specified in your preferences at the bottom of the page. Playback starts from your current
editing point and continues until the end of the sequence is reached.
Note: Playing a sequence also saves it. |
Changes the tempo of the musical sequence. Any playback of this musical sequence will default
to this tempo if it is not associated with a lesson page. |
Changes the amount of swing in the musical sequence. 'Swing' can give a "jazzy" quality to your music. A value
of '50' means no swing. A value of '66' or higher will sound like Lawrence Welk. |
Launches a mini-help viewer that you can use during authoring. |
If using accompaniment, play the sequence alone. This is simply provided
as a convenience during sequence authoring. |
Choose accompanying music for this sequence, either from another sequence you've created or from
a groove you've created. Note: Accompanying music is simply provided
as a convenience during sequence authoring to let you pre-listen to certain pieces of music played
together. It has no affect on the sequence itself. |

2. Fretboard |
The fretboard allows you to create, edit, and delete musical events at a given point in time. |

To create a note, double-click on the fretboard.
To delete the note, hold down the "Shift" key, and click on it on the fretboard. |
3. Event Menu |
The event menu lets you put in picks, hammers/pulls, slides, bends, vibrato, and palm mutes. |

Events are color-coded and the current event is highlighted.
To change the event type for new notes, click on the desired event in the menu, and
create your note on the fretboard.
To change the event type of an existing note, click on the note you want to change on the fretboard and
and click on the new event type in the menu. |
4. Measure Timeline |
The measure timeline is a display of the events that occur on each string for the current measure. The
horizontal lines represent each string, and the vertical lines represent different time slots in the measure. |
The blue vertical bar is the timeline cursor,
displaying your current location in the measure.
To change the cursor location, click anywhere in the measure timeline.
You can also drag it.
To change the duration of any note, simply drag the end of the note
in the timeline to a desired endpoint. |
5. Sequence Timeline |
The sequence timeline is a display of all the measures in the sequence, and highlights
the current measure. |
The purple outline is your sequence cursor, denoting the currently displayed
measure in the sequence.
To jump to a certain measure, simply click on it in the timeline.
Solid rectangles denote measures containing music. |
