As with my previous lessons, we label the picking-hand fingers thusly:
  • thumb = p
  • 1st finger = i
  • 2nd finger = m
  • 3rd finger = a
Play all of the notes on the 5th and 6th strings with the thumb (p), and play all of the notes on the 4th string with the "m" finger in an alternating pattern p - m - p - m, etc..., slowly at first, building up speed as you progress to the last measure. Some guitarists use p - i - p - i, I suggest trying both to see which one, if not both, work for you.
