The first time I heard Robben Ford was on some of the old Yellowjackets albums, and he's continued to amaze me ever since with his unique combination of blues, jazz, and rhythmic precision. In this first example, there's a nice use of bending and releasing in measure 1, with varying 8th and 16th notes using the blues scale. The same is true in measure 3 also.
