Basics: One-Note Ear Training Exercise

Use this exercise to help you improve your aural mastery of notes. A C-F-G-C progression is played to establish a 'C' in your mind, and then a random note is played. It's up to you to determine what the name of the note is. If you need help, consult our Sound Reference Chart on the main ear training page:

1. to a random note, and identify it:
2. the note:
C# Eb F F# Ab Bb

Instructions
1. A C-F-G-C progression is played at the start of the sound example. Use this to establish a 'C' in your mind.

2. A random note will be played after the progression. Try to identify this note relative to the key of 'C', and make your selection.
