Here is an easy riff for a beginner. It is taken from the song "Street Spirit" by the amazing band Radiohead. It is only the first riff of the song, but it is a nice and easy one. It has a sort of gothic mood to it and it sounds awesome in my opinion. It sounds good at really any tempo, but i'd recommend 120 to start, 140 being the best.
